Is it that simple? It sounds easy doesn’t it. Well it wasn’t easy for God who became man in the form of Jesus Christ, who laid aside his deity so that he could bear our sins for us. After suffering beatings, scourging, humiliation and every form of cruelty, he was nailed to a cross where he hung until he died. In John 19:30 he said, “It is finished! And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.”
He being perfect, lived a perfect life and was born with a spirit as Adam was originally made (this is why Jesus is referred to as the second Adam; “1 Corinthians 15:45, “So also it is written, the first Man, Adam, became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”), took on the sins of the world, past, present and future. His gift of taking on our sins, so that we might experience spiritual birth and eternal life with Him is the most wonderful gift offering anyone could possibly offer us. But we must accept this gift by asking for forgiveness of our sins and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Over 500 people saw Jesus after He died and rose again. Matthew 28:9 “And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they shall see Me.” And Jesus said to Mary in John 20:17, “Jesus said to her, Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren, and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.” Yes if we believe in Him we become new Christians with a new life as explained on our Home Page.
Our next step is to begin to develop and mature spiritually. This is done through studying the Bible, Worship and Prayer.
Study the following scriptures and if you have not prayed the prayer above...now will be a good time to do so.
I have been (Ephesians 1:4)__chosen____ and I am (Ephesians 1:4) _blameless_, a precious adopted (Ephesians 1:5) _son/daughter__ through Jesus Christ. I am (Romans 5:1) ___justified______ through faith and have (Romans 5:1) _peace_ with God. I have been (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14) _redeemed___ through His blood and have (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14) _forgiveness of sins. Therefore, I am no longer (Romans 8:1) _condemned. I am now a (Ephesians 1:1) _saint_ and no longer a sinner saved by grace and a (1 John 3:1) _child_ of the Living God.
May God bless you. Amen. |
